Tackling malnutrition in older people living at home in Scotland

Macs Snack Packs

Macs Snack Packs is a project run by the Mackenzie Centre in Inverness. Supper 'snack packs' are available for older service users and their unpaid carers to buy at a reduced rate. The aim is to reduce food poverty among older people and to also raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and hydration both for people who attend the centre and their carers.

A grant from the Small Ideas, Big Impact fund was awarded to the Mackenzie Centre in 2019 which enabled them to purchase new kitchen equipment to help extend the service.
